Just a small portion of our year supply that we recently added to our storage space under the stairs.
Okay, so if you know me, then you know, that my family and I are HUGE into emergency preparedness. Not only do I bottle/can my own food, but I regularly purchase food storage in super pails and #10 cans to increase the staples in our food supply.
Back in the day when David and I were looking for something to order in bulk to start our food supply, I came across Emergency Essentials on the Internet. I was very impressed with their selection of not only staples, but the other stuff, fruits, vegetables etc... that seem so priceless in a year supply. Since then, I've kept them as my #1 favorite food storage website. They also have a terrific blog...check it out be clicking HERE.
Recently Emergency Essentials introduced their new Food Storage Analyzer. It's this awesome program that allows you to input the ages of your family members, and the amount of food storage you actually have on hand, and it tells you how long that food supply will last you based on a daily caloric intake. Honestly, I guess one always wonders if they have enough food on hand for an emergency...well, I know now, that I have well over a years worth of food storage for my family. And the best part is...once we add another little one to the family, it will be super easy to recalculate our total, and see how much more we need to purchase to stay within our personal limits of 1 year minimum food storage. This thing is detailed too...click HERE just to get a quick idea of what the Food Storage Analyzer has to offer. Just one more reason why Emergency Essentials is TOP on my list when it comes to emergency preparedness.
